The Ingredients:

Water: You want around 8 ounces of water per mint lemon tea bag.

Mint leaves: As many as you like, we find 2 pieces of leaf per cup is about right.

Lemon slice: One for each tea bag, and make sure they’re not too thin.

Sugar: A little bit of sugar brings out the flavor of mint lemon tea. Plus, it adds a nice touch if you’re serving this to guests!

The Equipment:

Start by bringing your water to a boil in a teapot or saucepan. Any pan will do, as long as it gives you room to brew your mint lemon tea.

Brewing Guide For Making Mint Lemon Tea

Once the water boils, remove it from the heat and allow the steam to settle for half a minute or so. Place your mint tea bags in the water, ensuring they’re fully submerged. Put the lid back on to keep the hot water in. Let your tea steep for three minutes exactly. This is the perfect brewing time, so make sure you don’t go over or under this time!

While your tea is steeping, grab a small pitcher or serving glass. Prepare your lemon slice by cutting it into thin slices – not wedges as you see in restaurants. Then, prepare one sugar cube per serving.

As soon as your three minutes are up, carefully remove the tea bags from your hot water and place them on a clean surface. Make sure you don’t burn yourself! Pour the mint lemon tea into your pitcher and add sugar to taste. Stir well until all of the sugar has dissolved. If you like, use warm water to dissolve the sugar instead of just using cold water.
